The goal of this program is to provide nurses and other healthcare professionals
with information about otitis media, especially as a problem of the young child.
Program content emphasizes the anatomy and physiology of the normal ear, especially
the middle ear, and factors associated with normal hearing. The various possible
causes and disease classification system are stressed in this course, as is
how this classification system influences the treatment plan. Points about prevention
