Florida Administrative Code - 64B9
Adminstrative code contains rules written by government agencies that have the force of law. Like statutes, they give notice to the public of a government (department or agency's) intent to restrict or prescribe behavior. Unlike statutes which are made law or amended during the legislative session, Administrative Code can be altered anytime. It is therefore the responsibility of nurses to remain current with the status of FAC-64B9. Your state Board of Nursing and your state nursing organizations will be important resources to keep you abreast of important FAC changes.
The Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 64B9 contains the rules promulgated by the Department of Health and administered by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON). FAC-64B9 rules cover a broad array of important topics ranging from, abbreviations and definitions to tasks which may not be delegated.
The FBON has provided the FAC-64B9 rules in Microsoft® Word format. To read the individual Chapters of FAC-64B9, you must have Microsoft® Word Viewer installed on your machine. You can download a copy of the Microsoft® Word Viewer at this link.
