Summary

PSVT is a common cardiac arrhythmia seen in children. The rhythm disturbance is often non-life threatening initially, and can be successfully treated 90% of the time by the child and their care giver outside of the hospital setting.

Intense and continual education, as well as ongoing support by the health care community, are essential for the patient and the family.

Through these dedicated efforts of the health care providers, the child will enjoy a growth and development pattern similar to their peers; free of the stigma that other chronically ill children must face.
