with Disabled Children: Early Intervention
How to Take this Course
This program is the second in a series of three course offerings designed to
prepare nurses to work with families of children with disabilities. Each program
has specific objectives and may be taken separately, or as part of the series.
Part II focuses on establishing effective parent/professional partnerships and
highlights the empowerment model for collaboration between parents and professionals.
There is also a comprehensive overview of the early intervention system, the
school system for special education and related services, and state programs
that provide services to children with disabilities. Please see Objectives
for a specific list of the course goals.
