Asystole, observed on a cardiac monitor, is considered a "non-shockable" rhythm and a terminal stage of cardiac arrest.
Emergent interventions:
Return of spontaneous circulation
Survivors who remain comatose and hemodynamically stabile with or without vasopressors and/or mechanical circulatory support may benefit from therapeutic hypothermia.
