Target Audience

• This course is intended to familiarize nurses and other health care professionals with the basic principles of cancer chemotherapy. The goals of the course are to provide an overview of cancer chemotherapy, to review commonly occurring side effects of anti-cancer drugs, to outline management strategies to decrease toxicities and side effects, and to suggest resources for further learning. The course is not intended to prepare nurses or other health care professionals to administer cytotoxic drugs to cancer patients.
• Nurses and other health professionals may earn 5 contact hours for completing this course.
  • To earn 5 contact hours, participants must agree to spend no less than 300 minutes studying course material, exploring Internet links, and completing the exam and evaluation.
